I like to buy where I play

image

As a creature of habit, I graze through my emails en route to work this morning and stumble upon a piece from refinery29.com called, “Game Changers.” It basically talks about how the world of e-commerce is morphing into an arena that not only values the importance of product, but of complementary, engaging content in the form of editorial usually found in glossy magazines or in the form of photos that we scroll through on our favourite blog. We all need a little inspiration when we shop, no?

Ever since Aritzia launched its online shopping platform and new website, I really began to take notice of other e-commerce sites that adapted this form of smart marketing. Even one of my favourite portals to visit, The Coveteur, transformed into this medium that let’s you purchase what you see in the homes/closets of its featured personalities. Heck, I like to buy where I play! And if e-commerce sites are creatively giving me a reason to bookmark them…then kudos. You’ve just won yourself another set of eyes…and my credit card.

Here are some of my favourites:

- aritzia.com
- hm.com
- refinery29.com
- net-a-porter.com
- modaoperandi.com
- eluxe.ca
- thecoveteur.com
